Melvins announce new album with 1983 lineup, Thunderball

The ever-productive sludge/metal/rock weirdos Melvins have announced their new album, Thunderball, out April 18th. The LP features their 1983 lineup, which includes the band's original drummer, Mike Dillard. Pre-order the album here.

The first taste of the five-track monolith is out today, and you can take a listen to "Victory of the Pyramids" below. Melvins leader Buzz Osborne describes the effort as "bombastic," while Dillard dubs it "a lovely blend of beautiful noise and gut-busting grooves."

The Melvins will knock out a few dates in California on the upcoming Spring Break Tour before going on a sizable jaunt across the U.S.A. with Napalm Death on the Savage Imperial Death March Tour. Full dates for both are also below.
