Megan Thee Stallion granted restraining order against Tory Lanez

Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a five year restraining order against rapper Tory Lanez, with an expiration date of January 9, 2030.

Though Tory Lanez is currently serving a ten year prison sentence for shooting Megan in the foot in 2020, the restraining order was filed in response to Lanez harassing Megan through third party surrogates, including bloggers making false claims on Lanez's behalf about details of his abuse, including spreading misinformation surrounding the shooting that caused his incarceration.

In December of 2022, Lanez was convicted of three felonies related to the shooting incident: assault with a semiautomatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

During the Los Angeles court hearing for the restraining order on Thursday, Megan was quoted saying of Lanez, “I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again, and maybe this time I won’t make it,” alluding to a possible future extension of the order upon his eventual release from prison in 2032.
