Metal mavericks Mastodon suffered a big loss last year, when founding lead guitarist Brent Hinds died in a motorcycle accident. Nick Johnston joined them for live performances, and the band hinted that he'd be taking the place of Hinds in future work. The first song from post-Hinds Mastodon, "Your Ghost Again," is now out.

"When we were in the studio recording, I kept seeing Brent," drummer Brann Dailor recalled in a press release. "I'd see him on my right holding the guitar because that's where he'd usually be."

In addition, Mastodon have announced their upcoming Poisonous Weapons run, with Defhaven and Alcest. No venues have been revealed yet, but take a look at the tour dates below. Tickets and VIP packages hit the market on Friday, June 5, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
