M For Montreal reveals official lineup for fall festival, BADBADNOTGOOD to headline

Yesterday, the massive Canadian music festival M For Montreal (M pour Montréal) revealed the lineup for this year's week-long event, which takes place November 18 to 22. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the festival will bring together over 80 artists from Canada and abroad, with Toronto's BADBADNOTGOOD as the main headliner.

BADBADNOTGOOD first performed at M For Montreal in 2014. Now returning as the headliner, they will also be celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band, revisiting their legacy marked by their eclectic fusion of hip-hop, jazz, soul, and electronic music, and collaborations with acclaimed artists like Tyler, The Creator, Kendrick Lamar, and more.

Colin Stetson saxophonist and composer with cited collaborations with renowned bands and artists like Bon Iver, Feist, and Arcade Fire — will open the show.

This year's festival brings together acts from M For Montreal's past, present, and future. The Montreal psychedelic rock band The Besnard Lakes will be returning to one of the fifteen promoted stages nearly two decades after their first performance at the event. Likewise, the American jazz-rap trio Digable Planets will stop by the festival as a part of their Blowout Comb 30th Anniversary tour.

Emerging indie acts in Montreal's scene will be making their debuts as well: the folk trio Afternoon Bike Ride will be promoting the release of their fourth album Running With Scissors, and Original Gros Bonnet will be marking their return with their new album Le Vide, la peur, l'éclair.

The full lineup for this year's M For Montreal can be seen below on the official tour poster. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on the event's official website. More acts and details about the festival will be revealed soon.
