Lucy Dacus delivers a somber rendition of Lady Gaga's "Abracadabra" on BBC Radio 1

Lady Gaga's return to dance-pop maximalism has been taking over the pop world since the March 7 release of her eighth studio album, Mayhem. "Abacadabra," her third promotional single (and theme song for this year's March Madness), is a campy, almost nonsensical tune about the magic of dancing, and it was an instant dance club hit.

...But what if it was sad? And, for some reason, a guitar-based ballad? Look no further than Lucy Dacus' live cover of the track, performed last week on Jack Saunders' BBC Radio 1 show.

Today, BBC Radio 1 released a video of Dacus' performance, which occurred alongside a live rendition of "Ankles" and "Best Guess," two songs off her new record, Forever Is A Feeling. Listen to her somber cover of "Abacadabra" below:

The full inteview with Jack Saunders aired last week on March 25, three days before her record's release. The full show can be listened to here.
