Little Simz has announced the release of her highly anticipated sixth studio album, Lotus, set to drop on May 9 via AWAL Recordings.
As a preview, she released a powerful new track “Flood”, which features production from Miles Clinton James, along with contributions from long-time collaborator Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly. The song is accompanied by a striking black-and-white music video directed by Salomon Ligthelm, which you can check out below.
Little Simz hopes to continue her recent upward trajectory, following the success of her 2021 album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, which won the prestigious Mercury Prize, and her 2022 release No Thank You. She was also named the curator for the 30th edition of the Meltdown festival, which will take place in June at London’s Southbank Centre.
Pre-orders for Lotus are currently live. Though the tracklist is yet to be announced, you can view the cover art below.
