Baltimore indie pop outfit Future Islands have shared a new single "Glimpse", an unreleased track from their latest album, People Who Aren’t There Anymore.
‘Glimpse’ is a welcome continuation of synth-driven sounds heard on the band’s seventh LP, released in January 2024 via 4AD.
The track’s official video is directed by Jayla Smith, with the single’s artwork by Albuquerque-based artist Beedalo, who also illustrated the album art for People Who Aren’t There Anymore. Future Islands' latest LP is the culmination of a nearly twenty-year long career, with touring having already taken the band through South America and Europe. More shows are slated for across North America throughout the rest of September.
"Glimpse" is one of a handful of songs found on the studio tapes from PWATA’s recording sessions. The track itself was produced by Future Islands and Steve Wright, with mixing by Chris Coady. With the announcement of further music through his rap project Hemlock Ernst, acting gigs through Apple TV, and some of the most energetic performances in the indie-pop sphere, lead singer Samuel T. Herring continues to give Future Islands fans his all and more.
