Linkin Park return with new lead singer Emily Armstrong, new album and tour to come

Linkin Park's limited concert this afternoon in Los Angeles came with a plethora of annoucements for the beloved rap/rock nu-metal group.

Emily Armstrong, founder of band Dead Sara, led vocals; this confirmed earlier speculations this year that Linkin Park would replace the late Chester Bennington's spot with a female singer. Drummer Colin Brittain, the songwriter/producer for G Flip, Illenium, One OK Rock, was additionally a new member in the lineup.

Co-founder Mike Shinoda elaborated in several statements about Linkin Park's return, saying, "Before LINKIN PARK, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

“The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”

The band's first album in seven years, From Zero, will release on November 15th. The leading single, "The Emptiness Machine" has been released, and its music video will be released at 4pm PST/7pm PST.
