In a slightly surprising turn of events, pop superstar and actress Lady Gaga is releasing a new album this Friday. Only – it's not the long-awaited LG7.
Gaga has announced the release of Harlequin, out this Friday (Sept 27), which acts as a "companion album" with her new Joker sequel film, Joker II: Folie a Deux, where she plays Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix's returning Joker.
Fresh off some exciting teasing on Instagram, some billboards also went up promising "LG 6.5", which appears now to be this forthcoming album.
It appears that Harlequin, which is a soundtrack of sorts, features new recordings of older, classic songs, such as "That's Entertainment" that was featured in the trailer.
Despite this 13-track record coming out this week, it appears Gaga is still aiming to release the first single from her true next album (LG7) next month, with the album still on track for next year.
Harlequin tracklist:
1. Good Morning
2. Get Happy (2024)
3. Oh, When the Saints
4. World on a String
5. If My Friends Could See Me Now
6. That’s Entertainment
7. Smile
8. The Joker
9. Folie à Deux
10. Gonna Build a Mountain
11. Close to You
12. Happy Mistake
13. That’s Life
Joker II: Folie a Deux is out October 4.
