"Bad Romance" meets "Uptown Funk" on a newly announced single.
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have teamed up to release a new song titled "Die With a Smile". Gaga broke the news via X, formerly known as Twitter, with a picture of the pair donned in blue and red western attire.
The tweet hints that the duet will likely be a standalone track and will not be on the upcoming Gaga album. Attached to the tweet is a link to Gaga's merch store where a CD single can be purchased.
The listing for the CD reads,
"DEBUT COLLABORATION BETWEEN LADY GAGA & BRUNO MARS AS THEY DELIVER A TIMELESS BALLAD."
Both Gaga and Mars have headlined Super Bowl Halftime shows and sold out tours worldwide. The listing further flaunts both artist's acclaim and success.
"BETWEEN THEM THEY HAVE SOLD A STAGGERING 300M RECORDS WORLDWIDE, WITH A COMBINED 13 SINGLES THAT HAVE REACHED #1 ON BILLBOARD HOT 100."
Lady Gaga alone broke records back in 2022 when The Chromatica Ball Summer Tour grossed a total of $112,394,525 by selling just short of 900,000 tickets for 20 shows.
Mars has also enjoyed massive success with his 24K Magic World Tour back in 2017, as well as his ongoing Las Vegas residency at Park MGM. The residency started back in December of 2016 and has no end in sight, as they have already announced more shows in December of this year, even though it was supposed to conclude in September.
Due to the slightly ominous name, fans had been speculating that the single might have been recorded for the new movie Joker: Folie à Deux, which Gaga stars in alongside Joaquin Phoenix. The film is set to release on October 4.
