Kendrick Lamar to perform at Super Bowl LIX

Kendrick Lamar announced he will perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX halftime show in 2025.

The Dave Free-directed video shows Lamar on a football field, with the American flag behind him. "Super Bowl fifty nine. Will you be pulling up? I hope so." he says, while he feeds footballs into a throwing machine.

"No round twos" The rapper remarks, seemingly referencing his beef with Drake earlier in the year. Their feud led to "Not Like Us" debuting at number one on the Billboard hot 100. Lamar had this to say about the decision to perform. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,”

Lamar previously performed in the 2022 halftime show, alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent. The performance snagged the performers and Roc Nation founder Jay-Z an Emmy for Outstanding Live Variety Special.

Jay-Z's Roc Nation will return to produce for the sixth year in a row.

“Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar. Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop." says NFL Head of Music Seth Dudowsky. "We’re excited to collaborate with Kendrick, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to deliver another unforgettable Halftime Show.”

Super Bowl LIX will kick off on February 9, 2025 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
