Kacey Musgraves debuts new song at Nashville concert

On February 27, country pop star Kacey Musgraves headlined a sold-out concert at Nashville's The Pinnacle, becoming the first artist to do so at this brand new venue. The night was reportedly full of surprises: aside from performing songs like "Dandelion" and "It Is What It Is" for the first time since 2019, according to NME, the singer also debuted an unreleased track.

Titled "She's My Bitch", the new song is a tribute to Musgraves's dog, Pepper. "She’s black and white, all ride or die / More bark than bite / She’s my bitch,” she began to sing, as reported by NME. "The star of the pack, no one’s talking smack/Yeah, she’s got my back/ She’s my bitch.”

"She's My Bitch" was played 15 songs into the 25-track setlist. Musgraves played a solo, acoustic version of the track for the crowd of 4,500 people. Even the crowd showed love of the singer's pet, chanting "Pepper! Pepper!" as she sang the line, "So spicy, her name is Pepper," according to Variety.

The whole show was nearly two hours long, according to The Tennessean. Balancing the early songs like "Somebody To Love", a track Musgraves had not performed since 2015, with the Grammy Award-winning tracks "The Architect", "Space Cowboy", and "Butterflies", the set seemed to act as a retrospective on her career.

"This is a whole new place to come in Nashville to enjoy music," she told the packed crowd, as reported by The Tennessean. "That's pretty f***ing awesome, very happy to be here."
