Josh Klinghoffer gets charge for vehicular manslaughter

Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist and Pearl Jam touring member Josh Klinghoffer has been apprehended with a vehicular manslaughter charge. The guitarist, officially charged with a misdemeanor, is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in a California court.

On March 18th of this year, Klinghoffer struck a pedestrian, Israel Sanchez, at a crosswalk with his SUV in Alhambra, California. Sanchez, 47, was rushed to a hospital and later pronounced dead. His family sued Klinghoffer in July, claiming he was distracted behind the wheel and didn't stop in time.

Klinghoffer's attorney, Andrew Brettler, issued a statement saying, in part, that the guitarist "immediately pulled over, called 911, and remained at the scene until police and paramedics arrived."
