Joan Jett and the Blackhearts have announced I Love Rock ‘N Roll + The Shadow Album, a limited-edition collection celebrating the 45th anniversary of the classic record, out December 11. The release also includes a full album of previously unreleased material drawn from the original 1981 sessions.

Ahead of the full collection, I Love Rock ‘N Roll + The Shadow Album will be available as a standalone Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive vinyl LP on November 27 in the US, Canada, and the UK, featuring the exclusive bonus track “Black Leather (Live).” The Shadow Album includes early versions of “I Love Rock ‘N Roll,” “Crimson and Clover,” and “Little Drummer Boy,” along with “Bits and Pieces,” “Victim of Circumstance,” “Love Is Pain,” and additional recordings. Artwork for the 45th-anniversary collection was created by artist and Obey founder Shepard Fairey.

The new edition presents a remastered 45th-anniversary edition of I Love Rock ‘N Roll itself, which Blackheart Records issued on vinyl and CD back in August. I Love Rock ‘N Roll was Jett’s second studio album and her first with the Blackhearts, originally released November 18, 1981. It remains her best-selling album, with more than 10 million copies sold worldwide, and its title track spent seven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100.
