BLACKPINK's JENNIE drops new ‘Fallen Angel’ EP with dark fairytale video

JENNIE, the BLACKPINK member whose solo album Ruby debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, is back with a collection of personal songs. Fallen Angel is JENNIE’s first set of new tracks since releasing Ruby in March of last year.

JENNIE also released the official video for the title track, which finds her and a younger, inner-child version of herself in an enchanting, fairytale-like world. Watch the video below.

For the visuals to “Fallen Angel,” JENNIE gives viewers a window into her life outside her glamorous exterior. She is constantly battling to find her true identity, shown through the imagery of cracking walls and burned-down houses to reveal the beauty within. The fictional scenes express her happiness through butterflies, roses, and fireworks, but also take a darker turn when she dives deep underwater and everything turns black and white.

The end scene shows JENNIE sending a message: “Thorns may be the sharpest, fiercest thing on this Earth. And yet, they bloom into the world’s most beautiful roses.”

Fallen Angel is out now. When you pre-order the physical copy, it’ll include three exclusive tracks: “sweettooth,” “lockitdown,” and “Face.” Pre-order the physical EP here.
