Earlier today, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) placed Tekashi 6ix9ine's collection of fine jewelry up for auction online. The IRS seized the disgraced rapper's jewelry during an April 2024 raid on his Florida home.
The public auction is held through an IRS-authorized third party, and all the proceeds will go back to the government as 6ix9ine's debt repayment, according to Newsweek. Anyone is allowed to purchase the artist's personal items.
"1 year ago when I was stuck in RD [The Dominican Republic]...the feds made a raid for the entire house because I did not report my income for 4 years," he posted on his Instagram story today. "For them it was seen how I was running and hiding in DR when the reality was that I could not leave and get to the USA."
6ix9ine is referring to a period of time in late 2023 and 2024 when he was involved in two legal cases. In October 2023, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting music producers in The Dominican Republic and could not leave until the legal issue was resolved, according to HipHopDX. Later that month, the rapper was released from jail on a $500,000 bail, sentenced to taking an anger management course and a restraining order from the two producers he allegedly attacked, according to Antena 7 News. He then was briefly arrested in The Dominican Republic again in January 2024 on charges of domestic violence, where he was ordered to pay a $510 deposit, undergo counseling, and meet with authorities every two months until they conclude their investigation, according to Associated Press.
Some of the seized in 2024 that is now up for auction include 6ix9ine's diamond-encrusted 'Bruce the Shark' pendant (now worth approximately $63,000), a 'Water' pendant (now up to $36,000 in bids), a spinner shark chain (valued at $45,000), and his signature rainbow grills, as reported by Newsweek. Other seized items listed for auction include two luxury vehicles—6ix9ine's Bentley ($85,000) and Lamborghini ($175,000)—luxury watches, and other personal items. All the items can be seen and/or purchased on the Live Auctioneers website under the 'Tekashi 6ix9ine IRS Auction' name.
