Interpol confirm new music is on the way, share tour updates

Today, Interpol officially announced that their next album is coming soon. The alt rock band, currently gearing up for a US tour that starts this Sunday, confirmed on social media that their new record is written and recorded. They have not shared a title, cover, or tracklist yet.

The band also shared that their drummer Sam Foragino will not be joining them on tour, as he's still recovering from his spinal surgery in 2023, per Consequence. He also did not play on 2024's Antics: 20th Anniversary tour. Urian Hackney, the percussionist and co-founder of the Vermont punk band Rough Francis, will be taking his spot "for the time being."

Foragino is still credited as the co-writer and session drummer for the new record, and he's still an active member of Interpol.

Interpol are booked for the year in terms of live performances. After they begin their US leg of their tour in Miami this Sunday, they'll be playing Lollapalooza in South America, a handful of dates in Latin America, Coachella, and the UK's All Points East Festival. They'll also be joining Deftones for a brief Australia tour in May. In November, they and Bloc Party will be co-headlining a special arena tour in Europe and the UK. Tickets for everything are available now.

The new Interpol album would follow 2022's The Other Side of Make Believe. Updates on the new record are coming soon.
