Today, emerging alt pop artist hemlocke springs dropped another single off her upcoming debut, the apple tree under the sea, out February 13 via AWAL.
"w-w-w-w-w", the eclectic new track that draws inspiration from a childhood memory, adds another twist to the artist's strange new sound so far. Listen below:
"'w-w-w-w-w' details the reaction to a documentary I watched in high school whilst I was (unknowingly) struggling with the traditional expectations of others versus the expectations I had of myself,” says hemlocke via press release. It continues the album's themes of self-discovery, applying the values taught by her religious upbringing to a film about an arranged marriage.
The new single follows the releases of "the beginning of the end" and "heads, shoulders, knees and ankles".
