Earlier today, Irish noise rock and post punk group, Gilla Band, announced their forthcoming album titled Pugnello, releasing on September 25th via Rough Trade. This new project comes four years after the band's last studio album, 2022's Most Normal.

The four piece group, composed of vocalist Dara Keily, and backing instrumentalists Alan Duggan, Daniel Fox, and and Adam Faulkner, have been pushing the noise rock boundaries ever since their formation in 2011. Fifteen years later, the band is ready for their next step.

Yesterday, Gilla Band released the first teaser for the album, "Placeholder", along with an accompanying video. The track is an industrial-tinged compressed piece of feverish post punk, suffocated by layers of distortion, all paired up with Keily's yelpy lead vocals. You can listen here:

In addition, Gilla Band will embark on a North American tour this coming fall, followed by an EU/UK tour early next year. Two preview dates are already slated for October 7th in Manchester and the 8th in London. You can view the full list of dates below.
