Fugees singer and neo-soul songstress Lauryn Hill (not that she needs the introduction) has always been one for controversial media stunts. Whether it be her iconic 2001 acoustic MTV Unplugged performance or her routinely fashionably late appearances at her gigs, it's with her flirtatious charisma and sharp-witted tongue that Ms. Hill is often a hot topic in the media.
That being said, her latest stunt comes as a fun surprise to fans, as this week the singer pulled into Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey, for an impromptu performance at her high school reunion.
On the night, the singer played some of her greatest hits, including the unparalleled "Ready or Not" and nonchalant "Ex-Factor".
The performance follows weeks after the singer cancelled her North American tour due to an injury, "that necessitated the rescheduling of some," shows.
As for what’s next, this October Ms. Hill is continuing her European and UK tour with the Fugees in celebration of the 26th anniversary of her game-changing ‘98 record The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
