The Australian indie band Folk Bitch Trio have a big weekend ahead of them with Now Would Be A Good Time, their debut record due for release this Friday via Jagjaguwar Records. Today, the group shared their fifth and final promotional single "Hotel TV".
Watch/listen to the new track below:
Jeanie Pilkington takes the lead on vocals and lyrics for "Hotel TV", writing a song about another relationship meeting its bitter, tragic end. The track depicts a person "having a sex dream about somebody else while next to your partner, and your partner being a liar,” according to Pilkington. Like the other stories presented on Now Would Be A Good Time, "Hotel TV" is a hypnotic, slow rumination on a love burning out.
The video, directed by the band and Mick Mckk, aims to capture the boredom expressed in the track. Pilkington remarks, "Our vibe check for the music video was dire country town, bored and cheeky, loosely inspired by both our childhoods and what we’ve had to do for fun touring regional Australia."
