Folk Bitch Trio announce debut album 'Now Would Be A Good Time'

The Melbourne-based folk rock band Folk Bitch Trio may have released a couple singles since their arrival in 2022, but today, the group announced their debut album, Now Would Be A Good Time, set for release on July 25 via Jagjaguwar.

The band also shared the music video for their newest single, "Cathode Ray". The new single follows the releases of "God's A Different Sword" and "The Actor," both of which are featured on the new record.

Watch/listen to "Cathode Ray" below:

"Cathode Ray" draws inspiration from classic rock and Americana, with lead singer Gracie Sinclair gently crooning over a combination of acoustic and slide guitars. The song itself relies on visceral images of the body, often literally peeling the skin back to express vulnerability: "Everybody needs somebody / to make the body / come undone!"

Now Would Be A Good Time was recorded and produced by Tom Healy (Marlon Williams, Julia Jacklin, Tiny Ruins, etc.). The album aims to adopt a more minimalistic sound, building complex and airy arrangements through three-part harmonies and guitar combinations, according to a press release.
