Flyte, the UK-based indie folk duo comprised of Will Taylor and Nick Hill, have released their second track this year, "Emily and Me". It's dedicated to Los Angeles, honoring multiple landmarks and personalities linked to the city. Fortunately, its charm doesn't end with LA fanaticism. It threads the needle of being sentimental without being twee via reserved instrumentation and vocal harmonies. You can listen to it below.
"Emily and Me" comes a month after Flyte released "I'm Not There", their first piece of music since their self-titled album in October 2023. For the track, they worked with producer Ethan Johns, who's best known for working with Paul McCartney and--most directly connected to Flyte--Laura Marling. Johns produced Marling's acclaimed 2020 record Song for Our Daughter alongside the rest of her 2010s discography.
Flyte have not revealed whether a new album is in the works yet, despite releasing two singles. However, the pair will begin a short European tour next week.
