Droneflower (Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky) return with two tracks "Sky Burial" and "Drive It In"

Droneflower, the somber folk collaboration between Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky (Cave In, Mutoid Man, etc.), surprise released two new tracks — "Sky Burial" and "Drive It In" — for the latest Bandcamp Friday.

Listen below:

Featuring Nadler and Brodsky on vocals, Brodsky on guitar, and Emily Lee (Shearwater) on keyboards, the two tracks (being dubbed Burials) are the first to use Droneflower as a band name. The duo first collaborated under their own names for the 2019 album Droneflower after meeting at the now-resurrected Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn.

The trio unexpectedly announced the release on social media:

Here’s new DRONEFLOWER for the first @bandcamp Friday of spooky season. Link in @marissa_nadler bio - head there to hear “Sky Burial” (pretty self explanatory) and “Drive It In” (written for a nixed Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot). Lovely cover painting by Marissa, keys/harp by the incredible @sfxmaven & mixed by the mighty @j2hthree Enjoy! Also now’s a good time to revisit our album + EP releases on @sacredbones
Cover painting by Marissa Nadler

Burials is out now. Purchase here. Tracklist below:

1. Sky Burial
2. Drive It In
