In a recent press conference Live Nation Canada announced a brand new venue, History Ottawa, in the city. It boasts a 2,000 person capacity and will be two stories tall.
It is being built in collaboration with Canadian rapper Drake, as well as the National Capital Commission (NCC).
Mayor Mark Sutcliffe had this to say:
Among other things, this is maybe the only opportunity in my life that I'll ever get to thank Drake and [NCC CEO] Tobi Nussbaum at the same time.

Erik Hoffman, president of Live Nation Canada, hopes that this installment will help dispel commonly held conceptions that Ottawa is sleepy and not fun. It will also hopefully bring new commerce to the area, and support local businesses.
Drake and Live Nation are opening a new music venue in Ottawa.
