Death Cab for Cutie have announced a 2027 North American tour and shared an animated video for “Stone Over Water” from their most recent album, I Built You a Tower.

The tour kicks off January 19 in Honolulu, followed by a nearly two-month gap before the next date, March 11 in Nashville. From there, the band will play across North America over the following month, wrapping April 16 in Asheville. Swapmeet will support on all dates except the Honolulu show. 

An artist presale is scheduled for September 23, followed by local presales on September 24 and a general on-sale on September 25. All three go live at 10am local time. 

The “Stone Over Water” video was directed by Sean Solomon, who said the song affected him personally despite typically only making videos for his own music. Drawing on the visual style of cartoonists like Sergio Aragones, Solomon paired the song’s heavier subject matter with slapstick animation, following an animated character through a bad day before landing on a rather hopeful note.
