Earlier today, British indie rock band Courting announced that they will be releasing their third studio album Lust for Life, Or: How To Thread The Needle And Come Out The Other Side To Tell The Story on March 14, 2025.
They have also released the first single "Pause at You", alongside a music video. The band debuted the track on BBC Sounds radio at 4 pm GMT (11 am ET) and then released it on all platforms afterward. Check out the new single and music video below:
The new record will feature 8 new songs, including "Pause at You." Each track "twins" with another musically, lyrically, and thematically to emphasize the "dual" nature of Lust for Life..., according to the band's website.
“The album really revolves around a theme of duality, two titles, two figures on the cover, black and white," said frontman Sean Murphy-O’Neill to NME. "I loved the idea of taking a short, almost cliché classic title and then adding a post-ramble to it. I guess it kind of sums up our approach on this record: short and concise and at the same time considered and elaborate."
The new record aims to give the post-rock Liverpool sound Courting is known for a classic rock spin, yet still will leave room for "something more extreme and bizarre," according to Murphy-O'Neill.
The tracklist for Lust for Life is:
- "Rollback Intro"
- "Stealth Rollback"
- "Pause At You"
- "Namcy"
- "Eleven Sent (This Time)"
- "After You"
- "Lust for Life"
- "Likely place for them to be"
