Cola share new single "Conflagaration Mindset"

The Montreal post-rock trio Cola are back with a new single, "Conflagration Mindset". The melodic, synth rock track — a reflection of loss and personal identity inspired by the tragedy of last year's LA wildfires — will be featured on the band's forthcoming record, Cost of Living Adjustment (C.O.L.A.), out May 8 via Fire Talk Records. The band also announced the dates for their upcoming promotional tour.

Listen to "Conflagration Mindset" below:

The song begins on a suspenseful note, letting a synth slowly warp into a drum-led rock melody. Lyricist and vocalist Tim Darcy then goes through depicting a cramped, unfamiliar room stuffed with an air of sadness yet a need for community. "Most of the lyrics on this track were written after I (Tim) experienced a house fire during the wildfires in LA last year," Darcy says via press release.

"When you go through something like that, people come out of the woodwork and share their stories with you," he continues. Although, he adds, the title itself could be applied to a lot of experiences: "it's really a song about the nature of loss in general.

Cola also announced the dates for their upcoming 2026 tour, where they'll be travelling to cities acros the US, Canada, Europe, and the UK. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 20 at 10 am local time.
