Christopher Owens (formerly of Girls) shares first new song in seven years

It has been a minute since we've heard from former Girls frontman Christopher Owens. Owens last released a solo album in 2015, and put out a record with a new band named Curls in 2017, but aside from that has been rather quiet on the music front. That changes today with the release of a brand new single on True Panther Records, called "I Think About Heaven". Listen below:

This is, notably, the first song Owens has released since the untimely passing of former Girls bandmate Chet "JR" White, who died in 2020 at just 40 years old. The band had stopped making music by that point, releasing their last album - the critically acclaimed Father, Son, Holy Ghost - in 2011.

Fun fact: the cover art for the new single shows Owens posing in front of the former home of the late, great Shelley Duvall.
