Chat Pile release final single ahead of upcoming LP

Chat Pile have released the third and final single – "Funny Man" – from their sophomore album Cool World, out October 11 via The Flenser.  According to singer Raygun Busch, the song is about:

“...being a servant, indentured or otherwise. I hate having to explain the content of these songs, because I want it to mean whatever it needs to mean to those listening, but essentially it concerns illusion vs reality in regards to America and war. The title comes from an obscure British movie but otherwise there’s no relation”

On the style of Cool World, bassist Stin has said "While we wanted our follow-up to God’s Country to still capture the immediate, uncompromising essence of Chat Pile, we also knew that with Cool World, we’d want to stretch the definition of our “sound” to reflect our tastes beyond just noise rock territory”. On the album’s themes, Busch states in no uncertain terms "If I had to describe the album in one sentence…it’s hard not to borrow from Voltaire, so I won’t resist – Cool World is about the price at which we eat sugar in America.”

Cool World is the follow-up to Chat Pile's 2022 breakthrough LP God's Country. Preorder the album here.
