Celebration's Katrina Ford announces debut solo LP, shares new single

Back in August, singer/songwriter Katrina Ford released "Dundalk Dungeon", which followed up her debut EP back in 2022. But what appeared just to be a single has turned out to be the opening track on the former Celebration frontperson's debut solo LP, H.E.A.R.T.

H.E.A.R.T. (which stands for Heart, Ember, Abuse, Resin, Trend) is releasing November 1. Ford says the record is an exploration of boundaries, going on to say:

"Edges, the line, the start and the finish, There was no clearly defined beginning or ending to the making of this album. My work as an artist is a run on sentence. I light many fires and some I carry out the door, so to speak. Some of these songs were written years ago and some were finished this year. They all have the mark of pandemic."

The news of the album comes along with a brand new single, "Cry Wolf", a synth-drenched midtempo song centered upon Ford's trademark, formidable vocals. Listen and watch a lyric video below:

Ford co-wrote the album with producer and multi-instrumentalist Sean Antanaitis. Commenting on her collaboration with Antanaitis, Ford says: "“We’re maximalists. I love all kinds of music — the vocals and recording techniques of Phil Spector and girl group pop, the weirdo pop of ’80s legends like Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel, and the punk and goth that’s in my bones.”

Currently, Ford has a single live date set up, at Baltimore's Ottobar on November 2, alongside Arbouretum. Grab tickets here.
