Big Thief's Buck Meek announces new record 'The Mirror'

Today, Buck Meek, the guitarist of Big Thief, has announced that he will be releasing his fourth studio album, The Mirror, on February 27 via 4AD. Shortly following Big Infinity, his band's record that came out last September, he'll be returning to his solo project for the first time since 2023's Haunted Mountain.

Meek also shared "Gasoline", the first single off the new record. The accompanying music video, directed by Noel Paul, features Adam Brisbin, Terry Brisbin, Jesse Quebbeman-Turley, and Ken Woodward, who are all credited artists on The Mirror. Watch/listen to it below:

The Mirror is a collaboration mainly between Meek and James Krivchenia, the record's producer and fellow Big Thief bandmate. The two, attempting to create an album about love and devotion, blend electronic synth production and reverb with Meek's acoustic folk rock sound. Their other bandmate Adrianne Lenker will also feature, providing vocals.

Buck Meek will also embark on a tour across Europe and the UK next spring, just after playing a show in Pasadena, CA on March 12. He and his band will be supported by Kisser for most of the dates; the last two gigs will be solo shows with Germaine Dunes as the opener. Tickets are on sale now.
