Today, New York City indie band Been Stellar shared "Adored", a new single and followup to June's "Breakaway".
Watch/listen to the new track below:
The song — melodic, somber, and quieter than the brighter, rockier "Breakaway" — explores a confusing, fraught relationship. "And I don’t know what it is with this game," vocalist Sam Slocum sings in the chorus. "What you on about if you break the rules the same?"
“The distance between experience and song feels pretty slim on this one, which makes me a bit uncomfortable, but ultimately very proud,” Slocum comments via press release. "I remember when we recorded it I really didn’t want to listen back because of how personal it felt, but now I see this song as a real artistic benchmark for us."
Been Stellar's debut record, Scream From New York, NY, was released last year via Dirty Hit. "Breakaway" and "Adored" are not tied to a potential sophomore record yet.
