American Football announce fourth self-titled album

Today, the midwest emo pioneers American Football announced their fourth studio record, LP4. After announcing an extensive summer tour earlier this month, the band confirmed over social media that their new album is coming May 1 via Polyvinyl Records. It will mark the band's return to music since 2019's LP3.

In true American Football fashion, not much is known about the new record, save for the album title (which, that's a given at this point) and the cover art. It's still not available for pre-ordering.

The Illinois band teased a snippet of audio on their social media last week, with members Steve Lamos and Nate Kinsella playing the trumpet and piano together.

Tickets for the American Football summer tour are on sale now. The band will be supported by Mei Semones in May, Marconi Union in June, Ian Sweet in July, and Afternoon Bike Ride in August. They will also be donating $1/£1/€1 from every ticket sold to Safe Passage International and The Illinois Coalition for Immigration & Refugee Rights.
