My Chemical Romance officially have their first-ever Billboard 200 number 1 album with their anniversary edition of The Black Parade.
Originally released on October 23, 2006, The Black Parade initially peaked at number 2, marking it as the band's highest-charting album. That is, until the album's 2026 re-release, which sold 78,000 units in its first week. The 20-year journey to the number one spot is the longest ever for an album.
The band has been touring in celebration of the album's anniversary since 2025, with their last U.S. date wrapping up on Halloween night at the Hollywood Bowl.
While the band has not released an album since 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, Gerard Way officially announced that MCR is set to hit the studio in 2027 to begin their next album.
