Vast, sound-rich, and enveloping, this new collection of ambient material from M. Sage is actually quite interesting. I like that this young producer works to evoke a number of different moods among eight tracks here. There are spots that feel as if I’m sitting in on unreleased material from Tim Hecker, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, White Rainbow, or even the Caretaker. Not to say this guy is necessarily on that level, but he’s certainly got the right stuff when it comes to taste in this style of music, that’s for sure–not to mention he can successfully translate it into some engaging, beautiful soundscapes.

Love this album? Patent Sounds happens to be hosting a Kickstarter to get this album pressed on vinyl. That would certainly be a treat.
