Simon Joyner, one of the darker singer-songwriters to come out of the 90s, has a new album on the way this August titled Ghosts. “Vertigo” is the first track to drop from it, and it’s quite good. Simon is really pushing the instrumentation on this one–especially with the really noisy introduction.
Simon’s vocals feel pained and lost in the lo-fi haze of instrumentation, and it brings a very tangible reality to the distraught lyrics.
