Dirty Projectors drop another track from their forthcoming LP, Swing Lo Magellan. This track, and the previous one to be released, are taking the Projectors’ sound in a noticeably sweeter, poppier direction. While it’s nowhere near as hard-hitting as their earlier material, there’s something sneaky about how these tracks have quietly seeped into my subconscious. Tattooing themselves in my musical memory without being completely aware, because I find myself humming their melodies long after I’ve decided to myself, “yeah, this is alright.” I guess I need to listen to my subconscious more often.
