“Spiteful Intervention” was my favourite song off of Of Montreals 11th (!) album, Paralytic Stalks. I’m glad they opted to release a video for it, and what a video it is. In it, you see lead singer Kevin Barnes’ face being warped in psychedelic colours and shapes. It’s definitely one to full-screen and put headphones on for. While still rooted in pop, this track ventures into psychadelic territory as much as any Of Montreal song can. It’s an interesting listen, and a great headphones track, with background noises coming and going in the mix.
