Coming out March 6th on Constellation, here is a track from the forthcoming Elfin Saddle record, Devastates. It’s an edit of the track “the Changing Wind,” which I wouldn’t have guessed since the music flows so well here.
The song opens up with some nice acoustic arpeggios and ominous drones. Once things start to take off, these folky boy-girl vocals come in and give the whole thing a charming and rootsy feel. These root’s ain’t in America, though! The accordions that fly in sound like they’re playing Scottish bagpipe melodies to me.
The instrumentation eventually builds into a tense, acoustic chaos that ends up feeling pretty powerful. Really digging it.
