A new video from the Mountain Goats’ latest album All Eternals Deck, which I reviewed earlier this year.

“Estate Sale Sign” is one of the album’s most ferocious tracks, and features frontman John Darnielle singing like he’s an unstoppable force of nature. It could be a volcano, or maybe even an earthquake. You pick.

The song highlights the tension in a romantic relationship about to crumble, but this new video for the track–created by animation team Awesome and Modest–brings another level of meaning to the story. To me, the statement is that we’re never truly ourselves in a fight, and relationships can bring monsters out of some people.
