It’s time for some brash, roughly recorded pop, my friends.
On April 26th, Times New Viking will release its fifth album, Dancer Equired, on Merge Recs. The lo-fi sound might seem like it’s dead and gone these days, but remember Times was toying with this sound before it was even considered a style.
Having said that, Dancer Equired is somewhat of a surprise because it sees the trio entering a studio this time around. They’ve still managed to maintain their loud and brittle sound, though. This change of scenery might give the band some much needed clarity. I know it’s working for “Ever Falling In Love” and “No Room To Live.”
What do you think?
