All right, we need to talk about this exchange here because it's just insane to me.
It was just Drake's birthday, which is cool. We all have birthdays. It's mine today. A lot of people on the internet were wishing Drake a happy birthday, and why not? He's one of the most popular artists on the planet that figures. But I guess there was one man he was not getting a happy birthday wish from, and apparently that was DJ Akademiks.
Drake, I guess, waited until past midnight to message him and pretty much ask, "Hey, where are my birthday wishes at?" And DJ Akademiks responds at 5:00 AM to wish him a happy birthday.
I also love that Drake refers to him as his right hand β not even a right-hand man, just a right hand, which is strange, not just because it completely throws away the illusion that Akademiks is objective in any way when talking about Drake. He's essentially a journalistic henchmen.
But also on top of that, why would you want a guy who talks [redacted] with 15-year-old boys to be your right-hand? We do remember that, right? There is video of this. Yeah, I feel like a normal person, a person who's well-adjusted, has a sensible social circle around them, would not want that person to be their right hand, their left hand, any part of their body, yeah, weird stuff.
Happy birthday.
What do you think?
