these are good albums, LISTEN TO THEM

Wake up, wake up. It's time to talk about three albums I have been enjoying a lot lately and give you some recommendations.

Starting with one, the new JID album, God Does Like Ugly. One of the best rap records I have heard this year. A very enjoyable follow-up to his last. Tons of stellar, impressive lyrical moments, catchy bops, impressive features, and a few smooth summer jams logged into the middle of the tracklist, too.

JID - God Does Like Ugly
JID remains one of the most impressive rap talents out there today.

Next, I want to shout out the new Tyler Childers album, Snipe Hunter. Handily, one of the best country albums I have heard this year. Some of the most passionate vocal performances I have heard on record from Tyler, period. And the album has a bit of a rock edge, too. So if you're looking for something that is a little aggressive on the country side, I think you'll like this.

Tyler Childers - Snipe Hunter
Tyler’s most badass crop of songs so far.

And also, finally, the new Sumac and Moor Mother project, The Film, which is more on the avant-garde side of things. It's full of heavy, crushing, noisy, drony metal riffs and very bold, very in-your-face poetry, really putting on display the horrifying state of the world currently.

SUMAC & Moor Mother - The Film
Moor Mother and SUMAC’s respective styles complement each other phenomenally.

There you go. Three projects I'm going crazy for at the moment. Try them out, and let me know what you've been enjoying over the past month in the comments, too.

What do you think?
