Okay, really quickly, I've been seeing a lot of headlines about ICE ads on Spotify.

Specifically, they're saying the ads are no longer running on Spotify after a month's long controversy in 2025, where people were taking issue with these playing amongst their favorite songs.

While this is a good thing, we should hold off on congratulating or applauding Spotify for this because there's no proof whatsoever that they've done this out of any moral obligation. In fact, many outlets and commentators are theorizing that it's just because the time in which these ads were going to run just ran out at the end of the year.

But even if this was Spotify second-guessing themselves here, it's too late. They're too awful and too terrible a platform to continue using and giving your money to.
