R.I.P. Ozzy | 3 Albums to Get Into Black Sabbath

What three Black Sabbath albums should everyone have in their collection?

1) Paranoid

Black Sabbath: Paranoid – Victrola

You've got to have Paranoid. The catchiest tracks, the biggest singles, the most legendary singular tune moments in the whole Sabbath discography, they're on this thing. You've got "Iron Man", "War Pigs" too, "Paranoid". Again, the hits, the major moments, the tunes, the jams, the bangers.

2) Black Sabbath

If you want to really get into the perfect distillation of the trademark Sabbath sound, you've got to hear the self-titled, though. You have to hear the first track. It's so heavy, it's so doomy, it's so creepy, it's so scary, it's so eerie.

3.) Vol. 4

But then honestly, for my money, personal favorite in their discography, their original early to mid '70s run, it's got to be Vol. 4 because on this record, the band just sounds like a well-oiled machine. The vocal performances are amazing. The drum sound is fantastic. Tony Iommi is on one guitar-wise.

Sabotage

Then lastly, I would also do a shout out to Sabotage, which I feel like is a really forward-thinking album from the band. There's riffs on there that are very thrash-esque and some epic instrumental moments, too. Ozzy's vocal performances are so intense on that record as well. An awesome album.
