Alright, enough time has passed, so here are my top five songs from the new Phoebe Bridgers album, which has no shortage of great tracks, making this selection really tough to put together.
At number five, I'm gonna go with "As Above" which has a very powerful finishing moment for the album, with Phoebe's vocals reaching a peak of emotional intensity.
Next, "Haunted," which is one of the most beautiful and upbeat moments on the record, and maybe one of the most hopeful songs Phoebe has ever laid to tape.
At number three, we're gonna go with the powerhouse single "Lost Boys." After spending time with this record, this is the one that's gotten stuck in my head the most. It may be one of the warmest, hookiest songs Phoebe has ever released.
At number two is "The Governors Waltz," I love the tragic chords and lyrics on this track and the references which are simultaneously heart-wrenching and endearing. I think this is one of Phoebe's best ballads on this record.
Finally, at number one is "Bobby." Not only is the passion in how Phoebe describes love striking, but the intensity of the strummed guitars, the mix, and her vocal sitting right at the front of the song gets me every time.
That's my top five, what's yours?
What do you think?
