It's official: Wireless Festival has been canceled because Ye has been prevented from entering the UK to perform at that festival as its headliner. Of course, a lot of Ye fans and ticket purchasers to the festival are unhappy and ticked off, and it leads to the question of what fairness and accountability looks like in the entertainment world right now.
Because while yes, it is true Ye has done a lot of work, I imagine, to stay stable over the last several months and Ye has put out at least a few apologies about the many statements and offensive music and a lot of stuff that he said over the past couple of years, he still did say and do all of that stuff, and people are still well within their right to be unhappy, especially since it hasn't even been a year out since he dropped "HH."
But really, for me at this point, it's not a matter of whether or not there should be accountability for what Ye has done and said. Absolutely there should. It's really more like when we're getting accountability and when we're not. Because honestly, it's kind of crazy that we're seeing an entire music festival just shuttered before we are seeing full investigations or a trial for any one of those named in, you know, the recent you-know-what files.
What do you think?
