I Like The New Thundercat Song A Lot

Hey, hey, hey, there's a new Thundercat song. "I Wish I Didn't Waste Your Time". Let's give it a listen.

Okay, okay. I'm liking this a lot, even though in a lot of respects, I feel like it is playing to a lot of the usual Thundercat expectations. Got the falsetto, you've got the entrancing bass arpeggios, you've got the spacy synthesizers, you've got locked in, I would also say, entrancing grooves.

But I feel in terms of clarity and mix and overall production balance, this is one of the best sounding Thundercat singles I think we have ever got. For years, I have been very critical of the sometimes lopsided and wonky production that his tracks do occasionally feature, but this sounds clean as hell and fantastic.

It's a very sad, thoughtful, personal track for Thundercat that by no means is a huge bop or mega, mega hot single material, but it's still really good. And also very interesting to see it paired with this new Remi Wolf crossover, too. That's like a wild, freaky jazz fusion-type piece.

What do you think?
