Yungblud is in no way finished injecting himself into classic rock's fragile bloodstream following his tributes to Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith collaborations, and covering the Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath. He's nominated for three Grammys this year, all in rock categories: Best Rock Album (Idols), Best Rock Performance ("Changes [Live at Villa Park]", which is one of those Sabbath covers), and Best Rock Song ("Zombie"). And now he's released a new version of the latter, featuring none other than the Smashing Pumpkins.
Yungblud even told Loudwire that he was "channeling Siamese Dream" when he made the song:
"It was really the sadness and the melancholic emotion mixed with the aggression of Billy's fucking guitars ... Billy, as a songwriter, was really at the forefront of my inspiration when I was making this album. When 'Zombie' came along, I knew I wanted to do a new version of it."
There is no doubt this will continue to piss off the Darkness. If you wanna go for a ride, listen to the new version of "Zombie" with Smashing Pumpkins below:
